Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Fenmere Root Media Ltd, the publisher of swaylopixelscabn.courses, collects from visitors to this website, why it is collected, how long it is kept and what rights visitors have over it.

1. Who is responsible

Fenmere Root Media Ltd, Unit 4, Harrow Lane Works, 18 Cowden Street, Leicester, LE2 7QP, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Questions about this policy or about personal data should be sent to [email protected] with "Privacy" in the subject line.

2. What we collect

The website is a static publication. Reading it does not require an account and does not, in itself, collect personal data beyond what a web server records in order to serve a page. Specifically, the categories of data that may be processed are:

  • Server logs. The hosting provider records the IP address, requested page, referring page, browser type and time of each request. These logs are used to keep the site running and to detect abuse.
  • Contact form submissions. If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you enter, together with the time of submission.
  • Cookie and storage preferences. Your choice in the cookie banner is saved in your browser's local storage so that the banner is not shown again. This value is not transmitted to us.
  • Analytics data. If you consent to analytics, aggregate information about which pages are viewed and how visitors move between them may be collected. This is described in the cookie policy.

3. Why we use it and on what legal basis

Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure website. Contact form data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence, and where you ask us to take an action, on the basis that it is necessary to carry out that request. Analytics and functional storage are processed only with your consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time by changing your choice. We do not use personal data for marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not make automated decisions about individuals.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses local storage to remember your cookie choice. Analytics and functional cookies are set only after you consent. Full details of each item, its purpose and its lifetime are given in the cookie policy, which also explains how to remove cookies through your browser.

5. Who else processes the data

We use a web hosting provider to serve the site and an email provider to receive and answer contact messages. Both act as processors on our behalf under written terms that restrict their use of the data to providing the service. If analytics are enabled with your consent, the analytics provider receives the aggregate usage data described above. We do not share personal data with any other third party except where required by law or to protect the security of the site.

6. International transfers

Our providers may store data on servers outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, transfers are made under the UK's adequacy regulations or under the International Data Transfer Agreement or the addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, as applicable.

7. How long we keep it

Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for a short rolling period and then deleted. Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and for up to twelve months afterwards in case of follow-up, then deleted. Your cookie preference remains in your browser until you clear it or change it.

8. Your rights under UK law

The UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 give you the right to be informed about how your data is used, to access a copy of it, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability where processing is based on consent or contract, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email the address in section 1. We will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.

9. Visitors in the European Economic Area

If you visit from the EEA, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to our processing of your data, and you have equivalent rights to those set out above. You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your member state.

10. Visitors in California

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the Act. Requests may be made by email to the address in section 1.

11. Children

The site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data through the contact form, email us and it will be deleted.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The current version is always the one published at this address.
